Hello ABS Families and Happy Friday!

I have sent 2 Google Forms to families if you are interested in joining us for our Maple Celebration on Thursday, March 21st. I have also added them to this newsletter this week. There is one form to join us for lunch that day at 12:00 PM and another form if you'd like to come for Ice cream at 5:30 PM. You can come to one or the other, or both!

Just a reminder that Next Friday, March 15th is an Early Release Day. Students will be dismissed at 12:00 PM.

Options Based Drill

Dear Families,

We wanted to inform you that the State of Vermont is requiring what they call an “options based drill” for all Vermont schools. One of the drills needs to be completed in the Spring. During that drill, educators will use developmentally/age appropriate conversations with their students about what they could do if they needed to leave the classroom and/or building quickly. It will be mostly conversation based with participation on exiting the building; no overhead announcements or whole school drill will happen. If you have any questions, please contact the building administrator.

Please check for ticks!

As soon as the snow melts students are drawn to rolling and playing on the hill. I haven’t seen any ticks yet but it’s a good practice to make sure your child is checking for ticks daily. We are outside every day so getting into a routine is helpful.

Fingers crossed we don’t see any for a while.

Maple Celebration, Thursday, March 21st

Hello ABS Families and Community,

We are inviting you to join us for our Maple Unit Celebration taking place on Thursday, March 21st at 12:00 and an evening event, for those who can not make the daytime event at 5:30.

This will be a great time for us, as a community to come together to celebrate the learning and collaboration that goes into our place based work.

The day event will be a meal (with maple syrup) and some displays for your children to talk about with you. The evening will be the same displays with a sugar on snow (shaved ice, ice cream and maple syrup).

We hope to see you all at one or the other event!
