Spring Time
Hello ABS Families,
Spring Time is a wonderful opportunity to get some fresh air, enjoy extra outdoor movement and be in awe of the process regrowth.
At ABS, we also start getting outside in our outdoor classrooms more often. We are fortunate to have a strong outdoor and place based learning environment here in Brownsville. We are working to clear the common spaces and treat those spaces for tics and stinging insects. We also work with students about good tic check practices upon returning from outside. If you are interested, you are welcome to spray your child with repellents before they come to school and we ask that you also help follow up with tic checks at home. Together we can help our children benefit from the outdoors and stay safe!

K-2 Multi-age instructional times
Hello K-2 Families,
I'm reaching out to reschedule our overview and discussion time to talk about our K, 1, 2 shared instructional math and language arts times. We'd like to share more about how the work is going, some of the highlights, some challenges and solutions. I'm also open to hearing from you and how you are hearing about it from your child. I'm inviting you to join me next Wednesday, April 15th, 1:30-2:15 for this information sharing opportunity. If this time doesn't work out for you, please reach out to me and I'm happy to schedule a separate time with you.
Best, Jenifer

Hello ABS Families,
ABS is a nut free school including all tree nuts and peanuts (including walnuts, pistachios, pine nuts, pecans, macadamia nuts, hazelnuts, cashews, Brazil nuts, and almonds). We are also avoiding eggs and egg based mayonnaise.
Baked goods containing eggs (such as muffins, cakes, and cookies) are permitted.
Please remember that many granolas, cookies, and candies may contain these ingredients. We ask that you carefully check labels when packing snacks and lunches.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
